We want to send out our thoughts & prayers to the Shankel family, as they have lost a great man. D.C. Shankel passed away on Sunday, May 16th. D.C. was known for his infamous tractor train's. He will be dearly missed. Here is the message from the club (published on May 21st):

The club lost a long time member this past Sunday. For the past 20+ years, D.C. Shankel proudly displayed just about all of his collection every year at the show. The key phrase there is "just about all of his collection." Every year he would bring several semi loads of Farmalls (and a Case or Deere here and there) and a couple old trucks. I asked him several times why it was necessary to drag absolutely everything out of the barn and he always said, "what good is having them if no one gets to look at them." Anyway, in my eyes we lost a legend, but I might be a little biased because he was my grandfather.

I appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers in advance, but if you have any extra, send them to my Grandmother Barb, she needs them worse than I do right now.
